Holidays and the End

I was researching and found out that Mojang has stopped doing the holiday freebies in the marketplace. I play bedrock so I don't know if they ever did the 2 weeks of freebies in Java, but I do know that I looked forward to them every year and was very disappointed to find out about it stopping. I think they should continue with the freebies as it's really nice for those in the community that cannot purchase Minecoins like myself. It was really cool and fun to get new custom Character Creator items and the 2 free maps. Additionally I heard that they are also doing away with one major update per year and, instead, doing small updates year round; does this mean we aren't going to get a massive End update like we got with the Nether? The End is my personal favorite dimension for reasons I cannot explain and I would love for them to add more to it to make it a place people want to visit instead of just going there for the Egg, Elytra, and Dragon Head; then heading back home. It would be so cool for them to add more lore to the vanilla game about the End via more ruins and structures. Overall I need an explanation for the holiday freebies and why we haven't gotten an End update.
