Keep The old version numbering scheme!

The new numbering system that was just announced really hit me hard. I've really gotten to know how the version numbering works and it has me stunned that they are changing it. I get the problem that the drops will not live up to the "big update" once in a while it used to be and therefore we would be stuck on 1.21 for even longer. But I believe there are different ways to fix this issue than ditching it completely.

I also dislike the entire idea of ditching the big updates completely. They should have bigger drops now and then that adds more game changing gameplay or content so that a new version number is necessary.

But if that isn't an option at all then just changing the current version number every 4 drops or once a year should be considered to not make such a drastic change in how the updates have always been named! 
I see their reasoning too weak to make this change and as such we should work against this update!

  The new constant drops just don't get me hyped, it feels like I have no time to really experience the new things before they are already shoving new things at us. Its horrible for server updates, modders, and casual players. And the new numbering versions dont fit. We are entering a new era of minecraft when we really dont need to be doing so
