    Mojang are quite famous for not listening to their community. Hate to see that this is a major change, for them to just come out and say oh we are doing this and mostly don't care about your opinion on it.

    In my opinion the new system is really bad because you won't be able to remember update numbers.
    Right now I exactly know that 1.12 was world of color, 1.13 was update aquatic, 1.14 was Village and Pillage, and so on. It's one simple easy big number which is recognizable and increases by one at a time.
    With the new system, I wont be remembering if a drop has been the third or the fourth update in 2026 or if it maybe even came out in 2027.
    It probably also will be very confusing to new players as well, as it's not really intuitive.

    The only reason mojang changed this is so that players would not notice that updates are not small. Because right now, players are noticing that the big number is not increasing. Bad change.
