As everyone is aware, Minecraft is beginning to run into an inventory problem, and every update makes it a complete nightmare if you have a forever world to keep your sorting system up to date, with every new item.
I propose an inventory-focused update, which I know is already planned but isn't implemented, and I know that Mojang may be having issues with due to the complexity of the inventory system. I would focus this update on two major items, with a couple options in how each can work.
Item 1:
A new kind of shulker/bundle combination; I don't have a lot of ideas on how to craft it, but it would function very similiarly to a bundle in the inventory, but be able to be placed in the world as a block, and keep its inventory like a shulker. What I would have it do is have 9 slots and be able to be pulled from while in the inventory like the bundle, or placed like the shulker, but each slot would hold up to 27 stacks of items, just like a chest. This would solve the current issue of too many items with too many chests. I would also let it be interacted with by the copper golem, so that the golem doesn't lose its functionality. I think it should be locked behind later game stuff though, but that can be figured out by Mojang.
Item 2:
A new type of hopper. This hopper would be faster to access, and would push to chests, but would have two modes; regular hopper and filter hopper. In filter mode, it would keep one item in its inventory at all times, acting like an item filter in sorters.
