The spear sadly doesn't have different sound changes between the regular hit sound with the jab, and the charge hit, so it would just be generally better to just make that small difference. It could effect calibrated sculk sensors for a better redstone variation, would be noticeable in the tool usage improving quality of life, and would allow resource packs to have more depth to it.
I mean, the nautilus has different sounds when in and off water now apparently, so why not do this small but impactful change with the spear?
