Minecraft players very commonly color-code their shulker boxes based on the contents. For example, the red shulker box may be used for redstone items. But say you wanted multiple shulker boxes to hold redstone. In this case, you either (A) struggle to tell two identical red shulker boxes apart, or (B) you would have to pick another color, which could overlap with another set of items.
If we could apply armor trims to shulker boxes, we could then have two "red" shulker boxes with different secondary colors and designs, making the shulker boxes much easier to tell apart. Additionally, for multiplayer, you could, say, trim all of your shulker boxes with the same trim design, distinguishing your shulker boxes from those belonging to other players.
Not only would this feature improve shulker boxes, but it would incentivize more players to go out of their way to collect and use armor trims. There are lots of players (like myself) that aren't concerned with decorating their armor but would be very interested in further improving their inventory management.
