Introduce a new slot on the saddle which allows players to put armor onto their ghasts. This armor would drastically increase the resilience of the ghast in accordance to the armor, and would be craft able in addition to being obtainable from nether bastions.
For balancing purposes, the higher the armor tier, the slower the ghast would travel- similar to having to move increasingly heavier/bulkier body vests. Wouldn't this make the ghast too slow? Either increase the happy ghasts base speed or introduce speed boost capabilities- similar to horse jumping/nautilus boost. I also saw a suggestion to feed the ghast wind charges to make it move faster which I thought was cool.
What would this be used for? Mainly PvP/traveling situations. Since the ghast is easily obtainable, it has great potential for early game mobilization, however I feel that it's underutilized due to the current speed/health cap. Ghast armor and speed boosts would also allow for a whole new genre of aerial battle, which combined with the new spear would make for all sorts of new and interesting scenarios.
TLDR: add happy ghast armor + a way to go faster on them for better use in travel/pvp
