Edible Sugar Cane and Tree Bark Books – The Natural Knowledge Update

Hello Mojang Team, I would like to suggest a new feature for a future Minecraft update, tentatively called “The Natural Knowledge Update.” Currently, sugar cane is used only for crafting paper. I propose that sugar cane should also be edible, restoring a small amount of hunger and possibly granting a short speed boost effect to represent a sugar rush. Additionally, I suggest introducing books made from tree bark. Players could strip logs to collect bark, process it, and craft it into “Natural Books.” This would make early survival gameplay more realistic and creative, providing alternatives to conventional paper. Optional additional features could include: Crafting candy from sugar cane, such as sugar cubes or caramel. Creating decorative scrolls from bark and ink. Rustic enchanted books made from bark. Combining honey and sugar to make healing snacks. These changes would enhance gameplay by making the world feel more natural, interactive, and enjoyable.
