The new Vibrant Visuals graphics mode is visually rich and enhances lighting and reflections, but for players who are neurodivergent or sensitive to visual overstimulation, the added effects (e.g., shimmering water, bright reflections, saturated lighting) can cause fatigue, sensory overload, or discomfort.
Suggested improvement:
Please introduce a dedicated “Simple Graphics” preset (or toggle) that:
• Maintains standard visual clarity (e.g., normal lighting, no heavy bloom or reflections)
• Reduces dynamic effects (e.g., movement in reflections, glinting surfaces, volumetric fog)
• Remains accessible from the menu so players or parents can quickly switch it on/off
Why this matters:
Many players — especially children with sensory sensitivity or autism spectrum conditions — rely on Minecraft as a safe, calming environment. Having only Vibrant Visuals or “fancy” modes available by default can inadvertently make the game feel less safe or safe-escapeful for them. A simpler mode would support inclusivity and maintain the game’s accessibility for all players.
Current workaround I used:
I found the Graphics Mode setting and switched from Vibrant Visuals → Simple, which helped my son feel comfortable again. But not every parent/player will know this or be able to do it. Having a labelled “Simple Graphics” preset would make it clearer.
