Full Deletion of Minecraft Realms

So, having Realms is great. HOWEVER, I just found something out after just purchasing a realm subscription. I cannot fully delete a realm from one of the 3 slots (to my knowledge and research). And I wish to, because my friends and I want to play on a hardcore realm, which we can, but once all three realm slots have been used, we cannot make anymore, since resetting a realm doesn't allow you to activate hardcore again. 

So it would be nice to be able to delete a realm FULLY from one of the 3 slots, or change the function of the reset to allow the activation of hardcore.
