Since lava can be used in furnaces and renewed pretty easily, I think water should be next in line to be a fuel source.
The "Water Generator Block" is a block you can place in bodies of water that when connected to that water, spins a wheel animation (not a full 3D wheel) on the side and generate power. This power can light up to 8 redstone dust before needing repeaters and can power anything like it's a switch, button or pressure plate.
This generator block can absorb the water and the amount of power is determined by the amount of water.
The recipe can be 4 redstone blocks in a cross formation with a furnace in the middle and diamonds in each corner.
To go with the Water Generator Block, is the steam powered furnace. Can be powered by water or any fuel, it creates steam when used. The Steam-Powered Furnace can be fed with a hopper to take bottles of water and empty the bottles out to another hopper.
The recipe can be 4 furnaces in a cross formation with a campfire in the middle and 4 iron blocks in each corner.
If neither gets added, I love to see a water-based energy solution if viable, so for non-hardcore players like myself can power all our creations without dying antime I leave my settlements.
Thank you.
