Idea: What if Creepers were a “neutral mob”? As in they would still follow you around, but only explode when provoked or when nearby creepers are provoked.
Thought process: It works similarly in A Minecraft Movie, and it would help the modern design of “if something happens, it’s the player’s fault”.
Notes: The Creepers just following you and staring at you when unprovoked will definitely give a new meaning to the name “creeper”. And with this new behaviour a new variant could be added, like a “Dried Creeper” which would have a lower explosion radius but creates fire in the crater, or an aquatic creeper that can destroy blocks underwater.
