Please buff the spear, it’s too weak right now.

Spear feels too weak in 25w41a
The spear is a new weapon added in snapshot 25w41a. However, I think it feels much weaker than what everyone expected after Minecraft Live 2025.

First, the Lunge enchantment has too many risks. Using it twice can already break the spear, and it cannot be used while wearing an elytra. That makes it very limited in actual gameplay.

Second, compared to the mace, the spear’s damage output is too low. A well-used mace can easily defeat an Iron Golem or even a Wither, but a spear struggles even against an Iron Golem.

Even though the spear made to require practice and skill, it ended up being a weapon that only expert players can use effectively. Beginners should practice hard to learn a new skill, but spear is even hard to practice.

Please buff the spear. if the speed is 20m/s, we should damage 30. it should be activate during charged attacks, so that it feels like a true special move.

  The mace should be better than the spear. The spear is a day one weapon, but you need to go to at least one trial chambers to get the mace.
