There's other aspects that the Spear could use improvements in. Outside of potential additional enchantments that could help with increasing the Ready State length, it would be nice if the shield was able to be used with the spear, allowing for blocking. When I was play-testing during the snapshot, I wasn't able to raise the shield when either jabbing or charging, where the swords, axes, and even the trident are able to do so. I would also like to add on that, besides reducing or eliminating the durability cost, Lunge should be able to be combined with Mending on the same spear in my eyes.

No? Since when could you attack and block with a shield at the same time?

I was playing around with the spear a realized you can't add mending to it if you already added lunge to it. Lunge makes moving around the world much faster but if you can't mend the spear it makes lunge no longer a valid means of transportation. Other than that it's amazing and will definitely be my new favorite weapon!!

The Lunge Enchantment's durability penalty seems a little.... too heavy. I would propose either a cooldown like with ender pearls, or possibly a lowered penalty, like maybe 24 at lunge III, and 16 at lunge II, though keeping the 8 at lunge I would be fine.

Lower the penalty from the "lunge" enchantment, the spear becomes very useful for mobility in terrain like mountains.
