Minecraft Bedrock Offhand Support

In Bedrock Edition, the offhand is currently very limited compared to Java Edition. I believe it would greatly improve gameplay if Bedrock also had a proper offhand slot.

How it could work:

  • A new slot appears on the left side of the hotbar, just like in Java Edition.

  • Players can double-click items to swap them between the main hand and offhand.

  • The right hand remains the main hand. For example, if both hands hold blocks, only the right-hand block would be placed.

  • An extra control button could allow players to use both hands independently. This way, a player could swing a mace with one hand while throwing a wind charge with the other, or mine with a pickaxe in the right hand while placing blocks with the left hand.

Why this is important:

  • It would bring Bedrock Edition closer to Java Edition, making gameplay more consistent across platforms.

  • It adds more combat and building flexibility.

  • It gives players better control and creativity during fights, exploration, and building.

    Yeah I also want this. And mojang if you are worried about space on small devices then you can give the feature of sneak to use off hand item just as we use shields. When players have to use the main hand they will not sneak and when the player have to use item in off hand they could just sneak and use it

    But mojang please please please bring off hand support

    This is a problem that I constantly have while playing, I have to sneak in order to use a shield which is quite frustrating. It also gets on my nerves to constantly have to place torches while in caves. Worst of all I do not have the ability to place blocks or duel wield while engaging in combat, such as using a sword and bow at the same time.

    it would be better if Bedrock players could do that just like Java players could.
