Use snowballs or other items to boost happy Ghasts

I understand that the happy ghasts are slow so you can use them for building. But when you using it to transport players or mobs it would be great if you could feed it snowballs, snow blocks or maybe another item to give the ghast a temporary speed boost for bigger distances! Just like striders or the upcoming nautilus :)
