Endermen do not attack or harm Villagers or Iron golems in any way, but Golems attack endermen on sight, even when passive-- ESPECIALLY when passive. Golems do not even come running to save the Player when an enderman is aggravated by that player, so they should not be considered a hostile monster for golems to attack.
They needlessly attack and kill "Pet endermen" who passively sit in boats or stay in houses. Not even getting into the implications of a big white police/guard type mob attacking tall black humanoids without the slightest reason. Very bad.
It promotes exclusion. Even considering endermen to be monsters, when they are just people, is bad. The Players who respect their boundaries know, endermen make great company in game. Having a mob thats meant to kill actual threats like zombies and skeletons, kill your beloved neighbor without reason convinced me to never use golems for base-defense. Not even consider it.
You should only fight endermen if you have the gear or skill to do it yourself.
Maybe they could change golems to attack aggressive endermen, but even then, bad connotations.
