Make spear harder to get

For what is basically a horizontal mace, the spear feels too cheap. The mace requires a 7.5% chance from a special box in a special structure and killing a special mob, while the spear is crafted by rotating a shovel. In my opinion, to make the spear harder to get and make it actually heavy, replace the singular material in the crafting recipe with its respective block (except netherite because it is made by smithing). For example, a diamond spear would be crafted by:

As a bonus, the spear could also be crafted with a special stick called a "Handle" that is dropped rarely from zombies and its variants. For example,

PS: Also a copper spear should only be crafted with normal copper block or its waxed variant, no oxidization or cutting
