First of all, I love that they've added the ability to configure the F3-menu so that people can customize it to their needs. It does make the debug-screen less confusing for people who only use coordinates.
Why The New F3 Menu Sucks:
- It appears in front of everything else, even in the Main Title Screen.
I've never heard of anyone needing a F3 menu in the Title Screen? But even worse; It overshadows the inventory menu if you have enough enabled, like the text goes over the GUI in an inventory.
- Changes the location of specific shown data:
The "player_position" data will show in the right side of the screen depending on what other options you've enabled. Like if one would enable the "looking_at_block" data, which normally would appear on the right, it will now be placed on the left, while the "player_postion" data will be moved to the right side. This changes what millions of users are familiar with without any good reason?
Change Suggestions:
- Make the different sections be placed where they used to be and just be enabled to toggle them OR be able to choose which side the sections are on.
- Make the F3 menu appear the same way as it always has been when you're inside a menu (In the background a bit darkened) OR at least make it an option!
Final thoughts
Again, I don’t think anyone is really against the option of choosing what to see in the
F3- menu, but don’t unnecessarily change positions of these things and don’t overshadow the in-game GUIs.
