I think it could be really cool and useful if Copper Golems could be “tagged” with a colored wool (or possibly any block). Once tagged, the golem would only follow a path made out of that block.
• The golem would only interact with chests that are adjacent to that path.
• When it reaches the end of the path, it turns around and walks back.
• If two paths cross each other (say a red path and a blue path), the system still works:
• The red-tagged golem follows red blocks straight through.
• The blue-tagged golem checks if the blue path continues after the crossing and follows it.
• If a golem is not tagged with a block it will just work the same way it does now.
This system would solve the current problem of Copper Golems not remembering which chest holds which item, making them more efficient in larger storage systems while still keeping them balanced and fun.
