I think that because the main use for copper in real life is wiring, it should be in minecraft too. You shuld be able to make a copper wire by placing 2 copper ingots horizontally in a crafting grid, to make 4 or 6 copper wires. The copper wire should be an upgrade to redstone so it shouldn't be easier to make a copper contraption, so i thougth, why not make it more difficult to power! Now to power copper wires you need a redstone generator, i can be crafted by placing 4 redstone blocks, 4 copper ingots and a diamond in the middle. The redstone generator can be placed anywhere in the contraption, but a normal lever wouldn't work so you need to craft a copper lever, wich is crafted by placing a cobblestone and stick like a normal lever, but with a copper nugget in the middle, now you can power on or off your contraption. Normal pistons, droppers, repeaters, ecc. wouldn't work either so you need to craft the copper version of them wich is crafted by placing the item and a copper ingot in a crafting grid. Ok now that you have everything you start placing the wires and now you can place them on walls and ceilings so no more intricated stairs to make the wire go up. I always thougth why i needed to use a repeater to directly connect a piston to a redstone wire, or why i couldn't choose to run two cables parallel without them connecting to eachother, so now you choose if two wires connect to eachother or if a wire can directly connect to a piston! Hope yall like my idea
