Currently, the Copper Golem only sorts items into chests if the chest is empty or already contains the exact same item. This is too limited and doesn’t feel very useful compared to existing sorting systems.
A better solution would be to make Copper Golems capable of programmable sorting:
• Players could “teach” a chest by placing one example of each item they want stored there.
• The golem would then recognize that chest as a container for those items and automatically add full stacks later.
• For example:
• If I put one oak plank, one spruce plank, and one birch plank into a chest → the golem would add all kinds of planks there.
• If I put a carrot, potato, wheat seeds, and beetroot → the golem would treat that chest as “farming items” and keep adding all those crops.
This system would let every player decide freely how items are grouped — by category (all wood, all crops, all ores, etc.) or by specific items.
It would make the Copper Golem a truly unique and customizable sorter, far more useful and fun, while still being simple to use and easy to understand.
