New minecraft weapon - the spear has two attacks. Both of them could be done better. Here's my idea:
- stab sttack should have more range than other weapons to make it useful and add unique mechanic to it;
- charge attack while not riding any mount doesnt make much sense - leave it how it works on mount but when a player isn't mounting anything replace it with "foot charge"; how would it work?: player would dash 1-2 blocks (new enchantment could add distance up to 5 blocks) dealing damage in small area to all mobs which he goes through - this attack would deal more damage but also make player vulnerable to melee mobs
- the "foot charge" could also weaken mobs around or the player who uses it for balance (for example this cahrge could put mobs it catches into some stun state or just deal more knockback)
I think charging while standing/walking should be the same as while mounting. Also these changes could make the spear more unique as I said earlier. It shouln't replace/be replaced by sword or axe (which also are versatile weapons used all the time) but just make a great alternative or add-on to also carry with you.
