The changes in colours for accessibility on the copper torches has made the new copper light sources look terrible.
They had a beautiful lime/emerald green light prior to this week’s snapshot, and were changed to be a more oxidised look gray-blue, basically desaturated soul torch/lanterns.
This change was unnecessary, as torch colours purpose is to look pretty for decoration, it is not necessary for progression, and for colour blindness there is no accessibility issue worth ruining the colours of the items over, as they could just break the torch with an empty hand and look at the item name.
Ore texture changes was justified because ores are required for progression, it makes sense why they;d need to be accessible. Torches are cosmetic, decorative, and entirely unnecessary, the majority of players shouldn’t be punished with desaturated colours, just because a few people may not be able to tell the difference between torches at a glance.
And now you’d likely have a new issue of non-colourblind people not being able to tell the difference between soul torches and copper torches, so it ultimately solves nothing, at the cost of a beautiful and perfect torch colour.
It was nice having perfect RGB light sources, but that’s gone unless the textures are reverted to their better more vibrant colours.
