Home Zone & Behavior Modes for Pets
What:
Give tamed pets (dogs, cats, parrots, etc.) more options than just “sit” or “follow.” Players could set a Home Zone where pets can walk around freely, and choose between simple behavior modes like Follow, Passive, or Defensive.
Why:
Since the very first version, pets have been useful but also very limited. They are either sitting still or always following us into danger. Letting pets freely roam inside our base would add life and atmosphere — seeing parrots, cats, and dogs moving naturally makes a home feel alive.
It would also reduce frustration: in Passive mode pets won’t fight and die needlessly, while in Defensive mode they only help when the player is attacked.
How:
Home Zone: Use a simple block or item (like a “Pet Post”) to set a radius where a pet can freely move.
Behavior Modes: Interact with the pet to cycle between modes:
Roam Home (free inside base)
Follow (current default)
Passive (follows but does not attack)
Defensive (helps only if the player is attacked)
This system would keep pets simple to use, but make them feel more alive and useful.
