It's my understanding that the Copper Golem AI picks up items and then searches through all chests in the search range for a match, if a match can't be found, it places it in an empty chest, before returning to the copper chest to repeat the process.
First Suggestion:
Allow the copper golem to drop the items back into the copper chest on fail. This can currently also be achieved with a normal chest and hopper.
Second Suggestion:
Split the AI between the chest and the golem. The chest creates work orders based on inve tory and keeps a log of what chests are where in it's search radius. When the copper golem returns to the chest, it picks up the job and the items and travels directly to the destination while the copper chest creates more work orders following FIFO.
Third Sugestion:
For advanced copper golem networking, create copper rails that connect to copper chests and chests, creating closed networks, in this method, golems can traverse the rails and only interact with chest that are 1 square adjacent to the rails.
Fourth suggestion:
To allow players to have a truly optimal sort design, have chest that connect to the rail system change to a different style, where they have two doors on the smallest sections of the chest legs that open vertically for aesthetic purposes, they should also have a picture to indicate what items are inside (if it's one item)
Fifth Suggestion:
Copper golems are like robots, it would be good if we could improve their ability or assign tasks.
