Lives and Respawn Delay

I understand Minecraft has Hardcore Mode and an "Immediate Respawn" option, but why not have options such as: • Lives (Permanent Setting): Choose your number of lives from 1 to 10 or choose infinite, and just like Hardcore Mode, you can't respawn if you lose all your lives. • Automatic Respawn (with Delay in Seconds): When enabled, you can choose how long (in seconds) until you automatically respawn after death. You can also choose 0 seconds and it will behave just like Immediate Respawn. Please let me know what you think. Thank you!

    I like this idea a lot
    like a sliding scale you could just pick a number you want with the default as infinite but zero in hardcore, either you can only choose when making the world or using commands to just change it.

    Maybe you could also somehow acquire new lives in game like a consumable item, like lifesteal but respawns or lives not just hearts.

    In multiplayer it should apply to all players in the world by default but it change for each player individually when they die?
