A few days ago I saw a skeleton 1v5 my iron golems and won... It happened because the skeleton spawned in a platform that my iron golems couldn't reach, The golems just stood still and stared at the skeleton until they eventually died one by one.
I thought it was funny how a skeleton could 1v5 my iron golems and thought that mojang should definitely give iron golems range attacks, because its kinda sad how a mob that's supposed to be a mighty and formidable guardian be killed so easily by a measly skeleton.
An iron golem's arms are really long and seems ideal for throwing stuff so I'm thinking that their range attacks could be something like scooping (not picking up) dirt from the ground and throwing it at far away enemies. kinda like how monkeys would sometimes scoop up mud and throw it at random people in a zoo. Maybe if they're standing on top of cooblestone or gravel they'd be able to scoop up rocks and pebbles and throw it at enemies Beast Titan style or something. That way, they'd have more of a means to defend themselves against range attacks and not just stand there until they die.
