Please revert shelves change (for the love of creativity)

It was so much better before. In a game like Minecraft, creativity should take priority over realism. I don't care about having a block that is more “real life accurate.”

Minecraft is unique and does not represent reality.  

So for heaven's sake, put it back the way it was before. I've seen so many good uses of this block destroyed by this change that it's becoming revolting.
