For a long time, the community has wanted various predatory animals, bears, lions, tigers, orcas, sharks, etc. However, Minecraft has said no because they can't have hostile mobs that aren't fantasy creatures. My proposal: make them like polar bears! Babies are passive but the adults are neutral, attacking you if you get too close but not pursuing like a zombie would. This behavior should be extended to wolves (so only baby wolves are tamable. Most of these mobs would attack your livestock, giving a reason to not be free range. They can be killed for their fur, which can be sold to shepherd villagers for a high price or crafted into pelts (foxes, turtles, and armadillos should also have this mechanic). These pelts would be worn like armor (head, body, legs, and foot pieces) and give the player unique effects. For example, a tiger could give you extra damage and crit damage, while the fox gives you speed and makes it harder for mobs to aggro on you.
