Red torches made with iron nuggets

As an alternative to redstone torches and due to the existence of copper torches, I believe iron nuggets should be able to be used to make red or dark orange torches. In real life, strontium burns red, but I believe a suspension of belief can be used for iron to be used for red torches, or more realistically a dark orange torch.
