Minecraft needs native support for fully custom GUIs. Currently, we can only modify existing interfaces (e.g., chests via resource packs), limiting creators.
Proposal:
Add an in-game GUI editor allowing creation of unique menus, buttons, and interactive elements. Features:
- Place buttons, text, images, and item slots anywhere on-screen.
- Bind actions (e.g., run commands, open menus).
- Trigger GUIs via commands (e.g.,
/customgui open <name>). - Export/import GUIs (
.mcguifiles).
Use Cases:
- Server hubs (minigame selection, shops).
- Adventure maps (NPC dialogs, quest logs).
- Education (interactive tutorials).
Why it Matters:
- Unlocks creativity without mods.
- Improves server UX (replaces clunky command menus).
- Attracts new creators/players.
- Keeps Minecraft competitive.
Implementation:
Start with a basic editor in Creative Mode, later expand with animations/API.
This would revolutionize Minecraft for creators and players. Please consider!
Sincerely,
