Today we got more things to add to copper's usefulness. But these aren't uses. They look pretty, but that's all they do. Copper needs more uses. Copper doesn't need to be super useful, especially since it's primary use is decoration and this update has added more, but for a metal it still needs a little more.
It's weird that copper has so few redstone uses since copper wires are the closest thing we have to redstone in real life. A redstone signal should be able to pass through multiple copper blocks and stay the same charge all the way through. The amount of blocks should be 2-5 depending on oxidization level and this would allow for vertical redstone, though with difficulty than most probably imagined with that idea. But this could go a little further with the redstone lantern. To craft, it'd be the same as a copper one but switching out the copper torch for a redstone one. It'd work similarly to a torch, but it powers either below or above it depending on whether it is hanging or not. Speaking of hanging, copper chains can be powered by this in the same way as the blocks. The redstone lantern can be unpowered and depowered the same as a torch, but it can also be blown out and reignited like a candle.
Finally, these last things are just to make it so there's a torch/lantern/campfire/fire for regular/soul/copper/redstone. Make a green campfire by adding copper nuggets to a normal campfire and red with redstone then make a green/red fire by lighting copper/redstone.
