Completely agree, this new style looks awful.

I genuinely don't understand this UI change.

On desktops and laptops, the UI scale is already too wasteful with screen space that I set the lowest UI scale still feel a bit too large. On mobile, the elements were fine and didn't need any padding. But from 1.21.100, this is genuinely awful. There is no excuse on why you can't fit 14 entries in a column on a 1440p display. For contrast, you can have 14 desktop shortcuts on Windows on the same monitor with the default icon size and layout.

Seriously what is the obsession with designers wasting so much screen estate by adding completely useless padding that benefits no one, when there weren't any usability issues before. This is as wasteful with screen space as Windows 8.

As an accessibility or mobile friendly option, I totally get it, but as an unchangable aspect for PC users? Baffling.

I thought this was a bug on their end, not an active decision.

The extra padding makes the settings menu hard to navigate and it looks awful
