Redstocite, a mix of Redstone dust and copper. It would work exactly like redstone, it's just redstone dust with a skin, same way to work, different texture.
With the particular difference that it cannot be connected with normal Redstone, giving it a modular or compact use. In real life, some wires with copper sometimes dyes the copper inside with a color to prevent unwanted interference, so, also, the Redstocite would also be able to be dyed with the dyes that already exists in the game, giving it also a modular use of itself without the idea of using just redstone and redstocite, but using redstocite dyed with different colors.
This would give more use to the abandoned copper of the game, yes now it has armor, weapons, tools, the copper golem, but probably players would use only the copper golem (not mentioning the copper bulb, and blocks because these are decorations)
And for Mojang it would be incredibly easy to add, because techically it's just redstone with a skin that won't mix with redstone that has a different texture. That's all, nothing out of the world to say "too many things", it can calmly appear in a drop update due of how little it is, and would give a real good taste of use for the copper
