Locked chests in general have been suggested numerous times. But having the ability to lock a chest could be a great way to prevent copper golems from placing items in certain chests. This would solve any issues with chests they can't reach (if it requires going up and down a ladder for example) or any chest you don't want the golem to place items in for whatever reason (maybe because the chest links to an incinerator and you don't want the golem to destroy your items?).
You could lock a chest by crafting a key and assigning it to that specific chest (maybe by shift right clicking?), then you could right click the chest with the key to cycle between it's locked and unlocked state.
