I think that it would be great that the cooper tools and armour could oxide and become slightly slower in each level of oxidation, as we have a huge amount of cooper in our worlds. Another idea is that if any entity hits you with an axe the level of oxidation of your armour goes back (the way it works with cooper blocks). And when the armour is completely oxidated you won't receive damage, so in PVP you could need to have an axe in case someone has the fully oxidized cooper armour. This way it would move very slow but it wouldn't receive damage. To remove the oxidation of the cooper tools you would need the grindstone but it would cost a level of experience for each level of oxidation.
With the cooper golem I think that when it oxidizes it should move and work slower and that it would only interact with cooper chests in the same level of oxidation.
