As of now (2025) the wandering trader has three 'trade tables' that they draw from randomly to offer to players - the Purchase Table, a 'special' Selling Table, and an 'Ordinary' Selling Table. What I've noticed, mostly from gameplay, is that the Tables are in need of drastic rebalancing.
From the 'Ordinary' Table, the Trader offers Glowstone, Slimeballs, and Nautilus Shells - all items obtained from either hostile mobs, or the Nether! These would be more appropriate to see on the 'Purchasing' Table, as Players are much more able to obtain these items than the noncombative Traders.
More importantly, several items on the "Selling' Table aren't worth purchasing. Wheat seeds are an honest option here how? Pumpkin seeds are redundant when a whole pumpkin cost the same! Even the 'Special' Table has an odd pick, the gunpowder, which is never far enough way from the Player getting their own for free thanks to the Creeper, which again is not a mob any Wander Trader should be casually handling.
All that said, I don't really want to see these items switched over to the 'Purchase' Table. I want to see an open inventory of what a Trader has collected on their travels, to select an item and see its price with a separate button confirming the trade, and a similar set of mechanics for the Player's inventory showing what the Trader is interested in buying. All that, and Traders should offer maps.
