Recently, in the new preview (COPPER GOLEM IS BACK!!!!! WE WIN!!!!!) the copper golem that i create took an item that is not on normal chest, and he does not drop to take another item. so my idea is: after the copper golem search on normal chest for a same item that he is holding, after a while (not much, maybe 1 minute or 40 seconds) he puts back on copper chest and take an item that has on the normal chest.
