When Copper Golems can't find a valid chest to put their held item into, they just go around checking chests again and again, getting nothing done. This does not communicate the problem to the player, meaning they are unlikely to notice an issue until they next stuff items in their copper chest and wonder why their stuff isn't getting sorted.
They could just stuff the item back into the copper chest and choose to sort a different item, but that just postpones the problem until they are back to only having the unsortable item left.
Instead, I propose a Panic Mode where the Golem acts visibly distressed about the item they can't sort, maybe by standing atop the copper chest, spinning their head around, and making a distinct alarm noise. This would visibly and audibly tell the player that there's a problem, so they can go fix it. Furthermore, I propose the ability to right-click ("use" button) the Copper Golem to make them drop whatever they are holding, so you won't need to kill them or add a superfluous chest for them to sort into before you can get your item back.
