(repost from an earlier suggestion I made for 1.21)
To fit the theming of the 2025 Drop 3 in giving more uses to copper, now would be a good time to implement QC as a feature for further redstone parity via a "copper plate" item. By right clicking a copper plate on any face of a piston, dropper, etc., the face would be plated with copper, and have QuasiConnectivity on that block face. If the space adjacent to any face with a copper plate was powered, then the component would activate if block-updated on any side. For example, a piston with a single plate on top would behave in the same way as a Java piston, activating when block-updated and having the block adjacent above it powered. Any existing Java pistons prior to 1.21 would be converted to those when updating worlds. This would help implement QC to Bedrock edition without breaking existing machines, as well as allowing for more compact redstone by allowing QC on the north, south, east, west, up and down directions as the player desires, and provide another use for copper. It would also make redstone more accessible to newcomers by making the default behaviour work as expected while still keeping a useful feature for those who know how to use it. Adding a plate would cause the piston to adopt an observer face design on all sides to indicate the BUD functionality.
