The Copper Golem has a lot of potential to help with resource management, but it currently struggles with sorting multiple unique items. For example, if you place an entire armor set into a copper chest and only have one empty chest available, the Copper Golem will get stuck after picking up the second item.
A much better solution would be to give the Copper Golem the ability to “remember” the state of a chest when it first interacts with it. For instance, if a chest starts empty, the golem will continue placing different unique items into it until it’s full. You can override this "empty" state simply by placing an item into the chest yourself. From then on, the Copper Golem will only place matching items into that chest, meaning items that match what it's currently holding. This would allow you to set up rows of empty chests for the golem to automatically fill with various items. It also enables the creation of a dedicated “dump chest” where all the junk in your inventory can accumulate.
Not only is this system more intuitive, but it also gives you greater control over how and where the Copper Golem sorts your items.
