Problem:
In Minecraft Bedrock versions before 1.21.90, pressing the semicolon (;) key allowed players to quickly toggle ray tracing (RTX) on and off in supported worlds. This was extremely useful for content creators, map testers, and players who wanted to compare RTX vs non-RTX in real time without having to exit and reload a world.However, in version 1.21.90, the semicolon key was removed and replaced by the new Graphics Mode system, which requires players to leave the world to switch between modes (e.g., “Graphics” ↔ “Vibrant Visuals”). This makes it impossible to show live transitions in videos or compare lighting changes on the fly.
Feature Request:
Please add a customizable keybind setting that lets players assign a key (e.g., semicolon) to:
Toggle Vibrant Visuals (RTX) on/off
Or cycle between Graphics Modes without exiting the world
This would restore creative flexibility for content creators and testers while keeping the new Graphics Mode system in place.
Optionally, this setting could be:
Disabled by default (for casual players)
Marked with a warning ("May affect performance or stability if used mid-session")
Why it matters:
Ray tracing is one of the most visually powerful features in Bedrock, and many creators build entire videos around comparing RTX ON vs OFF. Requiring a full world reload breaks the flow of content creation and testing. A keybind toggle would solve this while remaining optional and safe for those who don’t need it
