In Minecraft Bedrock, all non-projectile entities have a maximum speed of about 16 blocks per tick, unlike Java. This is likely a precaution to prevent performance issues when dealing with very high-speed entities. I would like this to be removed. My reasons are as such:
1. The only time you would be dealing with these high speed entities would be in machines designed to accelerate them. Having a speed limit effectively makes these machines (such as long-range TNT cannons) useless, as the maximum range leaves much to be desired.
2. The only people making these machines would either be technical players or player following a tutorial, where they would know about the trade-off of performance, therefore there is no need to prevent the machine from working.
3. There are so many ways to lag or crash a server, accelerating entities super fast is the least of them. Please let players choose how they use the game. If they are willing to trade performance for speed, let them.
I would like this speed limit to be removed, which would mean that any entity could have any speed whatsoever. Since no casual player would ever come in contact with extremely high speeds, the only people experiencing this would be the technical community. Therefore I see no reason to prolong the restriction of the technical communities imagination in this way. If there are reasons other than performance for limiting speed, please let me know so that I can address them.
