Changing the graphics API from OpenGL to DirectX to improve performance

Dear Minecraft Development Team,

Proposing a transition from OpenGL to DirectX (ideally DX12) for:

1. Performance - Better FPS/stability on Windows

2. Compatibility - Optimized for modern NVIDIA/AMD GPUs

3. Features - Enables ray tracing (DXR) and modern effects

Challenges:

• Cross-platform support (Vulkan fallback for Linux/macOS)

• Development resources required

Suggested Approach:

• Phased implementation (beta first)

• Optional DX mode for Windows users
