Salty Slimes

There should be a new type of slime called the salty slime. It would be able to swim in water. It would split into smaller slimes when killed like a normal Minecraft slime. The salty slime would always spawn at a large size. Slimes that are split into their smaller versions would absorb water and grow back to their normal large size if not attacked for about 8 seconds. This means that If you attacked a large salty slime and it split, then weren't able to attack it for 8 seconds, then there would be 2 large salty slimes. If the salty slime were added to Minecraft, then there would also be a new ocean structure added where the salty slimes would spawn. Salty slimes would drop salty slime item and maybe drop salt item.

    Normal slimes can already swim in water. Do you mean that Salty Slimes can breath underwater?

     

    I don't think them growing in size is necessarily a good mechanic. While it is unique and would be insane for farms, it could easily make the game too difficult for unlucky players. 

    What would Salt be used for? What would the Salty Slime item be?

    Another Idea is that each time the slime grows, its ability to grow back is slowed and it drops slightly less experience. This is to balance it out if there becomes too much slime
