Copper Redstone has already been an idea in the past and can be implemented in many different ways, but I believe it could be the fix for the 24w33a controversy. Besides whatever kinds of effects it may be given, it can be the type of redstone to not give block updates instead of the regular redstone lines. This would allow people to have a way to get the benefits of the faster runtimes of the no block updates without needing to mess with how redstone already works. The current runtime is not an issue to the average player, so by giving an alternative option for people who need their redstone builds to function smoother it could benefit everyone. And besides this idea, it could be implemented with many additional changes as well, such as longer signal ranges, etc.
