When?
We have all ran into a scenario, where we're exploring the world to find a good looking place to set up our base. Maybe, you already have a giant base built up and you want to take a video or screenshot of it. In both these cases we need to ramp up the Render Distance up to 18 or more Chunks.
Likely Resource Sponge.
While flying across the world in Creative Mode, I have noticed that upon world being loaded, I started seeing all of the caves being generated around me and in the distance.
What do we need?
The use cases, when high render distance is required, do not benefit from subterranean chunks being loaded. When above ground, the player should not see through the ground regardless.
Hence, Generating & Loading caves that are way bellow ground is a waste of computer resources during exploration process. These resources could instead be used to increase Render Distance further.
We need a toggle-able video setting, which disables all generation & loading of chunks that we won't be able to see anyway.
Player Journey.
This way we could toggle the setting On, explore the world, find the place we want to stay in, and then toggle the setting Off.
