The villagers are 100% a straight up mess and borderline unplayable if we’re telling the truth. I waited ages to mess with them because I knew this to be true, but there comes a time that you need or want a trading hall and you can’t procrastinate anymore. Setting it up took... forever. And it was the most enraging process I’ve ever engaged in. Which is a shame because the beauty of minecraft is that it’s the most relaxing game. Like even fighting bosses isn’t enough to make someone rage quit, but playing with villagers in any capacity, yeah I’ll rage quit.

They really do just wander all around, constantly divorcing their beds and workstations. So they never work to refresh their trades and, again, wonder all around at all hours just begging to be murdered by zombies.

They should be so much fun to play with, building whole towns and things, but they need some serious help.

I also want to point out the terrible linking mechanics of villagers on bedrock edition, they tend to link to workstations they can't pathfind to and just keeps linking/unlinking to it. Villagers on bedrock edition are fustrating to handle near your base with the workstations as decoration.

Villagers on java edition are very well behaved and civilized

When a hostile bee is nearby, villagers will lift their arms into the air, and run around while screaming.

When a player falls into lava, nearby villagers will start doing an evil laugh.

The villagers are why I don't play bedrock.

I like to make large buildings and the bedrock villagers constantly get lost. They Also make noises 24/7 so I can't listen for anyone who is lost at Night.

P.s. the key to skyscrapers in java is three wide spiral staircases no more than 8 to 10 blocks away from each other. The villagers find them easier than regular staircases to pathfind

It's interesting to know that I'm not the only one with this problem in the Bedrock edition.
I currently play on a Realms where my focus is a village, so I need nice villagers and houses. Some of the houses contain decorative blocks like lecterns and smithing tables (for example). When I want to bring a healed villager, about 140 blocks away, he detects the table and, taking the profession, forces me to break the workbench or all the tables around the villager, leaving the village without a decorative aspect with barrels or other tables.
Barrels are a good decorative fit for medieval village. I had to temporarily replace them with pine logs because the villagers could get stuck with the barrels, even when they were 150 blocks away (and it was any profession, not just fisherman)!
The Bedrock version urgently needs an improvement to the villagers, so we decorate anything with them nearby or use a barrel in a stockpile, for example.
