To add more variety and make the glow squid more decorative maybe have a small and large variant of the squid:
The small one is half the size and runs away from the player, it is relatively common(Might be possible to feed it something to grow). It follows the normal sized glowsquid or the max size one if no other options are available. It drops less glow ink but gives more exp due to it being fast and speeding away when the player gets close.
The large one is double the size and tries to lure the player in to attack(Somewhat like the animation for it), it is rare but might be possible to make by feeding a normal sized glowsquid something. It could have a chance to drop an item for the player along with higher amounts of glow ink, maybe a more condensed form of glow ink that might have more uses.
It might be possible to breed this variant where it then lays between 2-4 eggs on the cave floor like the turtle that hatch into the small glowsquid variants. The eggs glow and can only be hatched if a different medium or large glowsquid interacts with them. Silktouching and using honeycombs, like copper has, makes them unhatchable regardless so they can be decorative.
The normal sized glowsquid stays the same but might follow the larger variant when swimming.
These might have slight texture variations such as making the small variant have a more cute look and the larger one having a slightly different look that might hint at it being more valuable or aggressive..
